About this blog

Must Love Dust was originally launched as a handy guide to help expats make the most of life in Qatar, after I discovered how hard it was to find information about even simple things. Pressing questions like Where to find an egg cup and How cold does it get are all answered here!

I’m in no way an expert on the place but I know what it’s like to be a ‘newbie’ as I like to call it. So if you’re moving to Qatar or have just moved, check out some tips on Newbie Tuesdays.

I took a break from blogging for a while, but am currently posting articles about life in Qatar that I wrote during that time off.

Why ‘Must Love Dust’?

People who live in Qatar never need to ask this. If you move there, you’d better get used to dust. Qatar is full of dust!

About me

I moved from Sydney, Australia to Doha, Qatar in July 2011 with my husband ‘The Coach’, and our dog, Bliss, to take up a job as an editor.

Qatar is a special place for me – we got married to move there. My dog died there in July 2013. My son was born there in February 2014.

In November 2014 we left Qatar and now live and work in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Expat life can provide adventure, uncertainty and give a thrill to small triumphs. I’m loving it, I hope you are too.
